What Is Tetratex?

Tetratex is a proprietary expanded PTFE (Polytetrafluroethylene) membrane, manufactured solely by Donaldson Membranes.

PTFE is a hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer with unique properties to resist temperature, chemical degradation, mechanical action and electrical charge and has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid.

Tetratex ePTFE membrane has a unique microporous structure. It comprises small randomly connected fibrils containing millions of pores per cm2, many times smaller than can be seen by the naked eye.

The extreme chemical inertness of ePTFE allows Tetratex to be used in a wide range of applications. Tetratex is dimensionally and chemically stable in almost any chemical environment ranging in temperature from -200ºC to 260ºC. Tetratex ePTFE is manufactured to a range of pore structures, widths and thicknesses to meet a variety of industry requirements.

Tetratex ePTFE filter media can enhance the performance of your filter by utilising surface filtration technology as opposed to traditional depth filtration methods.

Since Tetratex filter media first entered the market over thirty years ago, it has been successfully employed in a vast array of filtration applications providing high-level performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
